Specialized Services


BCAB offers specialized services to meet the needs of qualifying individuals throughout the community. Consumers must meet vision acuity of 20/70 with best correction in both eyes or have a progressive eye condition or field of vision of at least 20 degrees. Our Specialized Services include:

 

Transportation - Escort

We provide escorted transportation to and from such daily necessities, such as doctor or hospital appointments, community service facilities, banking, shopping and bill-paying at NO CHARGE! This service reduces isolation and promotes independent living.

 

Group Education & Support

BCAB offers practical education and training to individuals or groups in the skills needed to perform everyday living activities. Our instruction topics may include nutrition, food preparation, consumer education, financial management, healthcare and family problem resolution. Our goal is to enrich the lives of others! Social activities following Life Skills include lunch and an activity.


Support Services

Our Support Services involve the provision of minor tasks which enable customers to remain in their own homes. 


The Specialized Services & Prevention of Blindness programs are funded in part through grants from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.
